Ghanaian Hiplife musician, Omanhene Pozo, has lost his battle to brain tumor. He was reported to have been sick for a while after being in and out of hospital between November 2015 and February 2016. Doctors said to have admitted him after his condition deteriorated. He was said to be suffering from brain tumor and passed away during the early hours of today.
His close friend Barima Sidney confirmed the news of his passing via Facebook. Pozo was originally part of Nananom, one of the very first Hiplife groups in Ghana. They were vibrant in the late 1990s. After leaving the group, he pursued a solo career working with Highlife greats like Awurama Badu, Alhaji K. Frimpong and C. K. Mann.
South Africa lost its own kwaito legend, Mandoza, now Ghana. Does the ground ever get enough?
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
